This sweet, tart cranberry sauce with a touch of spice is our seasonal favourite. We tried something a little different and came up with a sauce that doubles as jam. This spiced cranberry sauce isn’t just for Thanksgiving or the holiday season anymore, we make this year-round.
A 6-ingredient spiced cranberry sauce made in under 30 minutes. So quick, so easy, you’ll never look at the canned version again.
Ingredients:
- Cranberries: We typically get our cranberries from our local grocery store. Usually readily available around the holiday season.
- Brown sugar: we typically use any organic fine-grain version for our brown sugar but any preferred brand can be used.
- Water: Regular run of the mill tap water.
- Lemon juice: We make use of fresh-squeezed lemon juice but this can e substituted with bottled lemon juice or even lime juice.
- Crushed red chilies: You can either crush your own. Alternatively, grab a box of red pepper flakes, Kashmiri Mirch, or Deggi Mirch as a substitute.
- Garam Masala: You can either buy a premixed version or try grinding it yourself at home by following our garam masala recipe. If you make it at home you will at least know all the ingredients that have gone into the mixtures.
